When I paint faces I find it fasinating that just a small alteration can change the expression of a face dramatically. So I decided to push my interest in faces further and explore ideas of hidden expressions and stories in a face. How taking elements away can make you more intrigued about the person. For example, the old lady I painted actually had a winning smile but you wouldn't think so from the section I chose.
this art is very interesting. i must say that i might be interested in getting something like this done of my portrait. i felt i was in the belly of the whale, lost in life ... then Jesus came through. do you do that kind of thing? is it crazy expensive? either way, you art is very beautiful. i really like the aging you show in the faces.
